More Small Things

Had to fly today. Flying sucks. They treat you like crap, and punish you most severely if you complain, or even joke. I might, just might buy it, if I thought the security shit was doing any good at all. Since I can think of several different ways of getting a Device through our current offensively invasive and stupid security systems, I don't. We are being subjected to meaningless crap for no real good reason at all.

Simple question: has all this crap caught even one terrorist? Yeah right, it has deterred thousands. I have some real-estate deals that might interest you.

Frankly, I think we'd be better off issuing a dagger to those not bringing their own at the gate, I think we ought to encourage weapons, and crack down a lot harder on booze, as in not selling any and checking for it at Security "Excuse me Sir, I note that you have a bottle of scotch, pray let me exchange that for a large knife..." As in, lets do a breathalizer rather than a metal detector.

I think it might be a better world, all around.

Well, these days, I don't see all that much diference between flying and taking the Greyhound. Crammed in and treated like lower class shit in a dirty environment all the way, well hell, Greyhound basically treats you better then your basic airline these days. Basically in the same business of packing people into tubes of machinery, they don't give much of a damn about security.

I guess blowing up a bunch of working class people just doesn't cut it, from either the terrorist or government point of view.

Me, I think, let us not defend the undefendable.
